Moths

An Angle Shades moth is sitting on my back door. This morning in the same place there was a Silver Y.
Two Hummingbird Hawk moths visited the buddleia in the garden last week. I watched them for about 5 minutes. They didn't alight, but hovered on incredibly fast-beating wings just like their namesakes, probing the flowers for nectar.

Great day with the kids at Studland Beach, thanks to a friend who lent their beach-hut. Saw a Common Blue butterfly on Sheep's Bit Scabious (great colour co-ordination!). Then the children spotted a lizard basking on the steps of the beach-hut.
